SouthShore Arts Council

The SouthShore Arts Council was formed to be a cultural resource for artists and the South Hillsborough County communities by offering inclusive programming in the arts and education.
High School Art Exhibit
Each Year the Arts Council hosts a High School Student Exhibition where students from South Shore high schools exhibit their work and receive prizes for themselves and their school totaling $3200.00!  This year, 2017, the exhibit will be displayed at Hillsborough Community College, South Shore Campus in Ruskin. We believe that this year's change in location will invigorate the event and provide an added educational opportunity for the high school students. Every year we have a local arts professional judge the submissions and delegate the awards to winning students and their school. The "Best of Show" student name will be added to the plaque that is on permanent display at South Shore Regional Library. The exhibit gives the students an opportunity to experience what it is like to exhibit their work in the community and also helps the school's art department to continue to promote students that are dedicated to creating art. This will be the 7th year the all volunteer SAC Board has sponsored and facilitated this Community Foundation inspired event. This is the only event of it's kind in the South Shore Community.
